Accessing the User Interface on the Motorola Broadband Gateways & Routers
This document applies to firmware version 6.3.x, 6.4.x, 7.4.x
You can access the Home
page by connecting an Ethernet cable from your computer to any LAN port of the gateway. Motorola Broadband devices running residential-class firmware (version 7.x) are enabled for Web and Telnet access. In this documentation will show you how to access the Graphical User Interface
with the web browser. Web access allows you to navigate and make changes in the Graphical User Interface.NOTE
: By default, Motorola's LAN IP Address is 192.168.1.254
and Login username is admin
If this is your first time accessing Motorola device, use the following link for assistance with setting up a computer for connection.
To Access the Home Screen:
Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enter http://192.168.1.254 into the address box.
NOTE: By default the LAN IP address is 192.168.1.254. If the default address has been changed, enter the custom address in the address box.
At the Welcome screen, you will be asked to enter login password. For the security of your connection, an Admin password must be set.
a. Enter an admin password in the New Password and Confirm New Password fields.
NOTE: Admin passwords are case sensitive and range from 1 to 32 characters long.
b. Click the Next button.
NOTE: You will be ask to login the next time accessing the device.
CAUTION: If the password is lost, device must be set to factory default for access. Factory default will erase all of the settings. Refer to Answer # 20058 to factory reset device.
At the login prompt,
a. Enter admin for User name.
b. Enter your admin password created in Step 2.
c. Click the OK button.
Immediately click the Home tab on the left-hand corner of the Auto-Configuration screen to enter Basic Mode Home page.
Basic Mode Home Screen
